Motorola Inc’s, Padmasree Warrior, executive vice- president and chief technology officer believes the future is in Wi-Max and 4G. Currently India uses 2.5G technologies and BSNL is seeking to rollout 3G networks and has placed an order for equipment worth $5 billion.
Warrior is seens as the India IT industry’s poster girl and rated one of the four most influential women executives by Fortune magazine. Motorola has the proprietary Canopy wireless broadband solution which it has taken up in Rajasthan for a pilot project.
